Trinity Celebrates 75 Years of Helping People Flourish!

Classroom

This year marks the 75th Anniversary of Trinity Services.  Founded in 1950 as a school for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Joliet, Illinois, today Trinity provides essential support and services to over 5,800 people with disabilities and mental health needs so they may flourish and lead full and abundant lives.

“We are very excited to be celebrating 75 years of Trinity Services’ incredible history,” said Thane Dykstra, Ph.D., President and CEO of Trinity Services.  “We have grown from a one-room schoolhouse to a nationally recognized leader in the fields of developmental disabilities and behavioral health, responding to the needs of communities all across Illinois.”

The yearlong celebration features several fundraising events and activities including: Tom O’Reilly Golf Tournament at Ruffled Feathers Golf Club in Lemont, on Tuesday, May 20; Trinity Triumph 5K Walk and Run at the Village Commons in New Lenox, on Tuesday, June 24; Better Together Dinner Dance at DiNolfo’s in Homer Glen, on Thursday, September 18; and An Evening of Holiday Music at Butterfield Country Club in Oak Brook, on Friday, December 5.

During the year, Trinity Services will unveil its new digital donor wall at the Veterans Administration Building, publish a commemorative book featuring Trinity history, and launch a 75th-anniversary video.  Trinity also asks the public for any historical photos, newspaper articles, or memorabilia they may have and wish to contribute to the celebration.

“This is a very special time for Trinity Services,” said Dykstra.  “We look forward to celebrating 75 years with our friends, families, and local communities who have been instrumental in our success.”
